A cute young dog, Max, finds himself stuck with a new housemate, Duke, a big lug of a dog that their owner brings home and expects they will get along. In fact, even at the last second I did not want the movie to end. Well actually the movie was well over an hour and a half but I was drawn in from beginning to the last second. The good thing is that Pops' owner is nearly always out so the whole gang love hanging out at Pop's place.You know a movie is good when it's over shortly after it began. And Pops is an old three-legged basset hound who has a wheel for his right hind leg but it doesn't stop him getting around. Chloe is a big grey cat who is mostly interested in food, Sweetpea a little bird who likes to play computer games while her owner is out, Mel is an angry looking pug who frightens the squirrels through the window to keep them away from his territory and Leonard, my favourite, a poodle who loves hard-rocking music and has a ball while his owner is out!īuddy the dachshund has worked out his own method of working out the kinks in his back while his owner is out and Norman is a little guinea pig who regularly gets lost in the vents as he is trying to find his way home. There is Gidget, his Pomeranian neighbour, who thinks that Max's life is very exciting, sitting waiting for Katie to return home. Fortunately it is not too bad for he has other friends n the building they are all pets like he is.Īnd in 'Max and Friends' he tells us all about his pals. The only down side for Max is that Katie goes to work every day and he misses her so much. Katie collects shoes and when she goes to work Max sometimes sits in her walk-in wardrobe and plays with them. Max thinks she is the greatest and they have a love stronger than words. Max, the main protagonist, lives with his owner Katie. They all live in a building, a block of flats by the look of it, in New York City. And they are all quite quirky and have their own agendas when their owners are out. I have not seen the film of 'The Secret Life of Pets' so the characters in this book are new to me.
